Belle Portrait 3

These are one of those images that I don't usually let surface to the "public eye". I have always been a bit of a perfectionist with myself, so it's not unusual for me to take 30 pictures, and only ever show one. Even then I'm not really happy, as I tend to wish I looked like something/someone else. Anyway, this time round I decided that instead of throwing this image into the bin, i would open adobe, enlarge it, and touch it up a little with a few tools. It was taken on a 640X480 cam, so I'm sorry about the lack of image quality - I'm looking to start saving for my Minolta camera after I come home from New Zealand. -_-

Years later and I'm still thriving to be better. Thank you to all of those who supported me and encouraged me to continue. As a 16 year old girl at the time of this submission, I was truly saddened by some of the nasty comments I received as a result of this photo; as if I was at fault for it appearing on the front page. I for one have never understood exactly why it got as much attention as it did but I will say this: We're not all born into a talent, but when we see potential there we thrive for it. We find somewhere to begin, whether it be with a cheap webcam or a basic point and shoot, and we work our way up.

I hope people who are new to the photography scene will find the confidence and drive to push their interests in the right direction and ignore the negativity some 'elitists' feel fit to exude towards those who are learning too.
